Janet Merryman Encourages Women of Her Age to ‘Seize the Opportunity’ for Happiness’
A few weeks ago, the stylish 80-year-old woman went dress shopping for a wedding gown with her granddaughter. She was thrilled to find three beautiful dresses, but ultimately chose a modern white dress with a sweetheart neckline and a high slit for her special day this weekend.

“That’s all I have to say. That’s what I’m doing. I don’t have many years left, and now I feel so happy,” she added.

After battling illness and discovering a blood clot in her lung, Janet said she “never thought [she’d] be sitting here today.”
As the years went by, Janet felt increasingly “lonely” until she befriended a neighbor in Philadelphia, USA. The couple started by having lunch together and gradually became closer. As their feelings progressed, they realized there was something special between them.
