According to Gulf News, Farooq Ahmad, a resident of Buxur district in Bihar, led the wedding procession to his bride Nazia Khatoon’s home in Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh, on the evening of February 14th. The couple had only seen each other through photos and had not met in person due to the wedding being arranged by their parents. The wedding ceremony was grand and well-attended by family and friends.

However, during the ceremony, some of the bride’s family members noticed that Ahmad’s right hand was immobile. Upon questioning, they discovered that he was paralyzed and his right leg was also not functioning properly. This shocking revelation was not something the bride could accept.

The next day, the couple was called to the police station to discuss the matter. The decision was made that the bride would be allowed to annul the marriage because Ahmad’s family had concealed the fact that he was disabled.
