A young man who had an unrequited love for 15 years, now reunites with his first love who is a single mother of two children: They still hold a wedding ceremony and promise to make up for lost time.

Fifteen years ago, he missed his chance to express his feelings to his high school crush. Now, at 35 years old, the man is determined not to let love slip away again and is happily married with his small family.

It’s often said that if it’s fate or destiny, two people will eventually find their way back to each other. This seems to ring true for Thanh Hai (35 years old, from Ho Chi Minh City) and his wife, Nhu Y (35 years old), whose love story is quite unique.

The two had attended the same high school, and Thanh Hai had a special affection for the girl with the gentle smile. However, he was too shy to confess his feelings, and eventually, the opportunity passed him by. After high school, they went their separate ways, and Thanh Hai’s unrequited love for his high school crush was left behind.

Perhaps one significant reason why Nhu Y finally nodded to Thanh Hai’s love was when she heard her daughter call him “Daddy Hả” instead of “Uncle Hai” as usual. Children find it hard to lie. As a single mother, she recognized how kind Thanh Hai was to her child, which made them ready to welcome him as a part of their family.

Once Nhu Y agreed to his proposal, Thanh Hai quickly planned their wedding and they moved in together just one month later. “I married you to take care of you and our children. You’ve had to work hard enough, from now on, let me take care of everything,” the emotional husband told his wife.
