The iconic image of the Chanel bride, hand-in-hand with Karl Lagerfeld himself to close out the fashion house’s runway show, is a ubiquitous sight in the fashion world. Therefore, it came as no surprise that numerous celebrities would choose to honor Lagerfeld’s legacy by paying homage to it with a wedding-worthy look of their own at the Met Gala.

The Met Gala saw a plethora of stars honoring the legendary creative director Karl Lagerfeld in their own unique way. Dua Lipa, the co-chair of the Met Gala, wore a stunning tweed bridal gown from the Fall/Winter 1992 Haute Couture collection. The dress was previously worn by Chanel muse Claudia Schiffer and featured a high neckline, long sleeves, and a dramatic train, paying homage to Lagerfeld’s iconic use of tweed in his designs. Lipa accessorized with a sheer veil, statement earrings, and bold makeup, making her stand out at the event.
